Braiding is known to be one of the oldest textile techniques. Threads are alternately weaved over and under each other to thus form a braid. Converted textile braiding machines have been used since the ´80s in research facilities for the production and development of carbon fibers. This braiding technology is now being used in series production.
In this technique, the fibers are braided to form a tube, which fits exactly to the core that has the shape of the later component part. Then the fibers are infiltrated and cured in a resin injection process. The braiding technique offers the advantage of fully automating the fiber deposition.
Our goal is to offer a cost-effective system and a fully production of fiber composite components using the braiding technique.
